The Soo Indians will open their 2010-11 season on Friday, September 10, with a serious challenge at the Motor City Cup Tournament hosted by the Little Caesar’s hockey team.  They will play a minimum of four games during the weekend with the first game being played at “The Joe” at 12:15 pm Friday against the Motor City Metaljackets.

Head coach Rick Corbiere is excited about his team’s prospects in the tournament but is cautious at the same time.  “We’re coming into this season with essentially a brand new team.  We have only two returning players from last year in (Nate) Fitzpatrick up front and (Joey) Gravedoni in net, but that doesn’t mean this kids don’t know how to play.  They are coming together fast and we’ve had only two weeks on the ice to practice so far, so we’ll see how it goes.”

The schedule for the tournament is posted on our site and any updates will be made as quickly as possible.  We will continue to update the scores, as well, as the games finish.
